Animation

This is my animation commercial for "The Bike Lane." For me, photoshop has been the hardest application we have used in class. When I started thinking of ideas for the commercial I knew I wanted to make it cute and simple because I rarely see many commercials for bike shops. After I got my idea, I made all the figures on Illustrator and then put them on Photoshop. I am more comfortable with Illustrator so it was easier for me to make them. After I had everything set up to make the animation, I enjoyed doing the project and had a few laughs at how some things turned out but overall I learned a lot and had fun making my first animation!

Story board

This is my story board of The Bike Lane commercial. It starts with a guy walking around and then sees the store The Bike Lane and goes in and comes out happy with a bike.

Lyrical Collage

For this project I found it very hard to get ideas of what I should create. Photoshop for me has been the hardest program that we have used yet. I decided to start off by getting a background that would be fun to add things to and make a cool picture. After a few hours of changing different backgrounds and having a few laughs at some of the different combinations of things that I was making with the dinosaur, I ended up with this cool collage and I hope you enjoy as well!

Paws Magazine Cover

This is my magazine cover called Paws. I have never seen many magazines about dogs and thought this would be a fun cover to make. I chose a picture of me to cover most of the page and added other photos around it. This was the first time I worked with photoshop and it was a blast!!! I always heard people talking of how much fun it is and I definitely agree!

Self Insertion- Quick trip to France

It was very interesting working with photoshop and being able to insert a picture and making it look like its from a completely different picture. I have never been to France and it was funny and cool to be able to insert a picture of us next to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. I'm excited to start working on photoshop because it seems like one can create anything they want and make it look so real!

Logo- The Bike Lane

This logo is for my dad's bike shop that he wants to open when he retires. I went with the colors yellow, orange, black and white because those are common colors for cyclist, and they're my dad's favorite colors too. I thought of the name "The Bike Lane" with my dad because we thought it was unique and different from all the bike stores he has seen. The black edge symbolizes the bike tires. I decided to make the word "bike" larger than the rest so it would stand out. I had so much fun making this logo and hopefully one day it will be used for my dad's store!

Logo Critique

I think this logo is very appealing to the audience that it is trying to attract. Cyclists all around the world see this logo and they know what it means. I think the design is very fun and different because of the font and how they connect the yellow circle with the O and the R of the word tour so it looks like a person riding a bike. The logo was very clever and promotes the tour very well. (The tour of France is an annual multiple stage bicycle race primarily held in France)

Chanel specializes in haute couture and ready to wear clothes, luxury goods and fashion accessories. Men and women all over the world know about this company and its logo. This logo is printed on their handbags, clothing, shoes, keychains, perfumes, etc. The two C's on the logo in which one is inverted, mean Coco Chanel which is the name of the founder of the company. Since the name Chanel alone is so famous already, the logo did a good job by just adding the name and the two C's which make it even more unique.

When I first looked at this logo I did not think it was a coffee shop, so in my opinion, thats the first problem with the logo. The colors are very weird because coffee shops usually have darker and softer colors. The design has a cross in the middle which even makes it harder to think that it is a place where they sell coffee.

This logo was not very appealing either because of the color choice, and the interesting figure that is supposed to look like a cobra. It look plain and unattractive. If this logo was made smaller to fit in like a business card, the figure of the cobra might be misunderstood. They tried to put the cobra in the form of the C but it stands out too much and looks strange.

The name of this company doesn't fit well with the design they chose for their logo. People who might see this for the first time will not understand what a doctor has to do with a car without wheels. The logo is very simple and has no color so it will not attract at all. The word "detail" means a small elaborated element of a work of art, craft or design. This logo doesn't show any detail or creativity.

Logo Ideas

Playita.com: This website will provide a list of all the best well-known beaches in the world. People can log on to this website and get a huge list of the most incredible and most famous beaches and it will include some deals of nearby hotels or houses where people can buy or rent to be able to visit these top ranked beaches. The logo will consist of the word playita.com and the letter L will be in the form of a surfboard.  Another option can be that the T be in the form of a palm tree.

La Boulangerie: This will be a french bakery that will serve all types of french desserts and plates. The logo will consist of having the colors of the French flag in the letters and background with a small Eiffel Tower next to the name.
The Bike Lane: This bicycle store will sell all types of bikes with maintenance and parts. Beyond bicycles we offer clothing and other accessories for both competitive and non-competitive riders. The store also serves as a rest stop where bikers can relax and drink some coffee. At the same time, riders can get their bikes fixed or any maintenance they need to be done before heading back on the road.  The logo will be similar to the bike lane street sign with a unique twist to the colors and bike elements.
Pagán & Pagán Advertising: This will be an advertising agency that I will share with my sister. We will work with different clients to help them promote and advertise what they want to sell. The logo name for this agency will have Pagan&Pagan making one Pagan a different font, size or color than the other one. I want to keep it simple yet professional because its a company that I want people to really trust. The logo will have a symbol that will represent us that will encircle the first P.
Beach Volleyball Academy/BVA: This club will be open for boys and girls that want to learn and play beach volleyball. Beach volleyball will help improve ones skills for indoor volleyball and the benefits include more power, speed and the ability to jump higher. The logo will include a volleyball net held up by two palm trees and the letters BVA in the middle.

A little bit about me...

My name is Ana María Pagán and I am from San Juan, Puerto Rico. My major is Advertising and Public Relations and I would like to work in sales. I'm on the volleyball team here at the University of Tampa and this past year we won the National Championship. I'm very excited to start learning about the digital arts, and to get a better idea of what I will be working with when I have to deal with both the client and the creative in an agency. I haven't had much experience with graphic design or anything similar to digital arts but I am definitely up for the challenge!!

I heard this joke today and thought it was pretty cute and funny.. hope it makes you smile!

...How many tickles does it take to make a squid laugh?.......
